A Wii That Should Have Stayed Turned Off
Mii Funkin: Vs. Eteled takes one of the internet's most famous Nintendo creepypastas and turns it into a full rhythm game experience. The story begins when Daddy Dearest traps Boyfriend and Girlfriend inside a Nintendo Wii console. Searching for a way out, they move through familiar Wii menus and channels until they meet a Mii named eteled. At first, he seems harmless. He talks normally, acts friendly, and blends perfectly into the cheerful Wii environment. The longer the encounter continues, however, the more obvious it becomes that something is very wrong.
From Nostalgia to Horror
One of the mod's biggest strengths is how gradually it changes its atmosphere. Early scenes look almost identical to a real Wii menu. The familiar colors, buttons, and sounds create a sense of comfort for anyone who grew up with the console. That comfort doesn't last. As the story progresses, eteled's true nature begins to surface. The friendly Mii becomes unstable, the music grows more aggressive, and the bright Wii aesthetic slowly gives way to something much darker.
How the Gameplay Works
The mod uses the traditional four-key setup found in Friday Night Funkin'. Rather than relying on unfair gimmicks, the challenge comes from increasingly demanding note patterns.
Long streams of notes, repeated key presses, and rapid alternations become common during later songs. Surviving these sections requires concentration and endurance more than memorization.
Custom menus, Wii-inspired fonts, and character dialogue help make the experience feel like a corrupted version of Nintendo's classic console.
